The captain, then, helps her to disguise a young man, Cesario. However, she doesn’t find her twin brother, Sebastian, and assumes he must have been drowned. ![]() The captain helps her to reach the shore. Meanwhile, Viola, along with her captain, Antonio, and crew survive a shipwreck on the seashore of Illyria. As she is mourning following her father and brother’s death, she rejects him, saying she will not marry for the next seven years. Hence, he resends a proposal expressing his undying passion for Olivia. Duke Orsino convinces himself that he loves Olivia and that is enough. The play opens with Orsino madly in love with Lady Olivia, who does not love him back. ![]()
